SOD, GARDENS
& GREEN SPACES.

Fresh sod lawns, curved garden beds and planting designs that finish a property — installed on properly graded soil so they actually thrive.

The green half of landscaping is where a construction project becomes a home. TSL Contracting installs fresh sod lawns and designs garden beds across the GTA — usually as the finishing layer of a bigger transformation, and often as a project of its own.

Good sod work is mostly what happens before the rolls arrive: stripping the old surface, correcting the grade so water runs away from the house, and laying quality topsoil at proper depth. Skip that, and even premium Ontario sod struggles. Do it right, and you get a lawn that knits down fast and stays healthy.

Garden beds get the same treatment — clean curves cut with intention, quality soil and mulch, and plant selections that fit your light, your soil and how much maintenance you actually want to do. Pair a new lawn and beds with a patio or new walkway and the whole property changes.

Common Questions

SOD & GARDEN FAQ.

When is the best time to lay sod in Ontario?
Spring and early fall are ideal — the sod roots in cooler weather with reliable moisture. Summer installs work too with committed watering. We schedule installs so your sod has the best possible start.
How do I care for new sod?
Water daily (soaking, not sprinkling) for the first two weeks, then taper off as the roots knit into the soil below. Stay off it for the first couple of weeks and hold off mowing until it is rooted. We leave you a simple care sheet at handover.
Do you fix grading and drainage before sodding?
Yes — and this is exactly why professional sod installs outlast DIY ones. We correct the grade so water moves away from your foundation and out of low spots before any topsoil or sod goes down.
Can you design a low-maintenance garden?
Absolutely. Tell us honestly how much gardening you want to do — including "none" — and we will select hardy, structured plantings with mulched beds that look intentional year-round without weekend upkeep.
